Characteristics and Impacts
The new building, which incorporates innovative solutions to offer spaces for other functions, guarantees optimum ventilation and versatile lighting, and achieves exemplary energy performance with an annual energy consumption of just 0.33 GJ/m².
The velodrome minimizes its environmental impact by using electricity as its heating source, emitting as little as 2.9 tonnes of CO2 per year.
Several measures were implemented, including the clever integration of mechanical equipment under the track which optimizes space, the ventilation systems designed with highly efficient heat recovery units ensuring outstanding energy performance, and track lighting innovatively managed with a versatile digital control system.
Integrating a rainwater recovery tank preserves natural resources by reducing domestic water consumption during recurring activities such as bike cleaning.
