James Armstrong International Airport

Client: Winnipeg Airports Authority

Project description

Winnipeg International Airport serves as a primary gateway for Manitoba and surrounding provinces and territories. It is the first airport in Canada to achieve a LEED rating for its environmentally friendly design. The new terminal layout enhances traveler comfort and efficiency, supported by a Central Utilities Building that optimizes heating and cooling. As the only commercial international airport in the province, it remains a vital transportation hub, featuring a 570,487 sq. ft. terminal, a four-level parking garage, and 22 boarding gates.

First Canadian airport to achieve LEED certification, emphasizing sustainability in design and construction.
Advanced mechanical systems improve energy efficiency and enhance passenger comfort.
Significant infrastructure investment strengthens Manitoba’s role as a key transportation hub.
