Isuarsivik Regional Recovery Centre – Nunavik
Client: Isuarsivik Community Organization
Project description
This 32-bed treatment centre is designed to help the Nunavimmiut deal with all types of addiction. Traditional culture is at the heart of the centre’s organization. An enchanting site offering a peaceful, healing atmosphere, the ultramodern building overlooks the Nuuvuk Bay and Koksoak River. Round treatment rooms called qaggiq evoke the exchanges that took place in igloos. This is a unique centre in Nunavik.
