City of Edmonton – Recreational Facilities

Client: City of Edmonton

Project description

Acting as Mechanical Project Manager, BPA began this project with a comprehensive feasibility study that focused on an existing multiplex facility, including pools, arenas, sports courts, and fitness facilities. An assessment for the existing mechanical infrastructure was completed, along with a utility analysis to establish natural gas and electricity baselines and cost assessments.

The study identified opportunities for the implementation of Combined Heat and Power (CHP) units at two recreational facilities and led to a pilot project.

Implementation of CHP units at two recreational facilities was an alternative energy solution, as part of the city’s overall GHG reduction program.

Features:

  • Combined Heat and Power (CHP)
