Canadian War Museum
Client: The Canadian Museum of History
Project description
Our firm was retained as Prime Consultant to carry out the complete building condition assessment of the Canadian War Museum. We assembled and managed a team of building specialists including structural engineers, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, envelope specialists and elevator specialists. We were responsible to coordinate the study and prepare the final comprehensive reports. Our methodology included identification of the main building components, assessment of the condition and remaining service life of all the building components, identification of operational or design problems with the various components and preparation of a detailed report summarizing observations, apparent deficiencies and repair recommendations for future capital costs. This was a unique assessment having to deal with complex mechanical systems, sophisticated architectural finishes and scheduling of work around public access to the facility.
