Project presentation

The Agora-Tourterelle innovative school brings together Tourterelle Elementary School and Agora High School under one 7,500 m² ultra-modern roof. The contemporary three-storey building includes 31 classrooms, collaborative spaces, a library, a double gymnasium with a stage, a culinary workshop and a bright central space on two levels. Ecological stormwater management transforms the steps of the retention basin into a playroom and outdoor classroom.

The outstanding measures implemented throughout include appropriate lighting, optimum thermal comfort, above-standard outside air flows and flexible ventilation and heating systems.

Geothermal energy, with its 45 wells that are 152 m deep, reduces CO2 emissions and energy consumption while providing heating and cooling. The school exceeds the PACC 2020 targets by 20%, achieving an energy consumption of 0.63 GJ/m².

The project stands out for its flexible, reliable, scalable and energy-efficient infrastructure. Its electric network includes flexible systems that enable load growth while incorporating lighting innovations. It also offers spaces where high school students can socialize and work together.

The project was awarded the prestigious Relève du génie-conseil award by the Association des firmes de génie-conseil (AFG).
