University of Ottawa – STEM Building
Client: University of Ottawa
Project description
Constructing a new 300,000 ft2, six-storey state-of-the-art Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics complex for the University of Ottawa. The intent was to create a distinct building, transform undergraduate STEM education, and conduct groundbreaking research. This included designing and constructing a building that incorporated open spaces and allowed for natural light to flow through various spaces.
The new building includes classrooms, offices, teaching spaces, study rooms, a lecture hall, laboratories and heavy-duty testing facilities, including a 4’-0” thick strong floor and structural designs to support large scale hydraulics testing labs.
