Louis-Philippe-Pigeon Building

Client: Industrielle Alliance

Project presentation

Following its acquisition by Industrial Alliance, the Louis-Philippe-Pigeon building located at 1200 Route de l’Église in Quebec City was completely renovated and brought up to safety standards on all nine floors. Work included the refurbishment of air distribution, lighting, electrical and HVAC systems, and the installation of automatic sprinklers and new telecommunications systems.

The renovations significantly improved the building’s energy efficiency by optimizing HVAC control sequences and installing LEED V4-compliant lighting systems. The perimeter heating system replacement offers greater comfort. In addition, the optimization of the BACnet IP communication network now allows rapid data transfer, improving system management.

Notable features of the project include the security-related access control system installation, the telecommunications infrastructure upgrade and the new connection room design. Reprogramming the digital controllers and optimizing the control sequences have considerably improved the building’s operation and performance. Thanks to all these measures, the project earned LEED Silver certification.
