Project description
Citizen on Jasper was planned to be a new addition to Edmonton’s Jasper Avenue. A 32-storey residential building with 350 suites, a 2-level podium, and a 4-storey below-grade parkade. Each unit is designed to maximize available ceiling heights, which required close coordination with other designers.

Characteristics and Impacts
- The electrical design includes utility coordination, power distribution, lighting, fire alarm systems, communication systems, CCTV, and access control coordination.
A Powerful Tribute Through Light
- The exterior luminaries, showing braille text, provide a unique visual interest while paying homage to the former CNIB (Canadian National Institute for the Blind) headquarters on the site.
- Each fin shows a special message in braille: Welcome, Hello, Come In, Be at Home, Greetings, Stay Awhile, Eat Drink.
