Your main responsabilities 

  • Translate, from French to English, various documents such as communications, internal presentations, technical reports, quotations, service offers, job aids for our engineering professionals, policies, etc.
  • Support and advise internal departments on their translation needs.
  • Perform final proofreading of translated texts for accuracy and consistency in culture-specific context.
  • Manage diverse responsibilities and priorities; optimize work organization to enhance efficiency and ensure timely completion of assigned assignments. This includes prioritizing
  • writing, editing and approval.
  • Build and maintain a word bank of English and French translations.
  • Collaborate with external translation providers when required.
  • Translate content from English to French as required.
  • Perform other related tasks including administrative

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in French to English translation or equivalent knowledge and skills acquired through related professional experience
  • 10+ years of professional experience in French-to-English translation
  • Membership in an accredited professional translation organization (in Ontario: ATIO; in Quebec: OTTIAQ) will be considered an asset.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and French
  • Strong computer skills; proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Organizational and priority management skills, with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and with multiple internal partners.
  • Detail-oriented. Ensures consistently high quality translations and revisions, adapted to the Canadian-English market.
  • Ease in building relationships with people at all levels of the organization; seek to establish trust through a professional attitude and strong work ethic.
